Although the sciences, including astronomy, have been, and continue to be dominated by men, there have been a number of outstanding Canadian women astronomers who have made major contributions to their chosen science. Their work was built upon the foundations laid by their predecessors, and it in turn has been used as a foundation for the research of today and tomorrow. This talk will take a look back at some of those remarkable women astronomers; their work and its significance to us today.
