The RASC member's SCO BBQ is Tonight (Friday Sept 18th) and starts at 5 pm.
Menu:
- beef & chicken burgers (maybe veggie)
- hot dogs
- condiments (mustard, green relish, ketchup, sliced pickles)
- veggie tray
- green salad
- chips
- pop
- water
- SCO kettle (with water for the kettle) available to make tea (various choices), instant coffee or hot chocolate at dinner and as the observing night progresses
Please bring:
- Your own plate and utensils (hot and cold cups are available at SCO)
- Your chair
- Bug & tick spray
- Warm clothes if you plan to stay for an evening observing (if the skies permit)
- Your observing equipment (binoculars, telescopes, etc.)

Radio Astronomy for Beginners - Meteor Scatter and Skip
This presentation was be introductory into the radio astronomy world of meteor showers, meteor scatter, and meteor skip. The twist is I will focus on the use of Software Defined Radios (SDR), which is an up and coming technology. SDR has completely change how radio astronomy can be done in a simple straight forward way, with minimal cost, and real time results.
